In the age of rapid technology growth, developments in adhesives, sealants, encapsulants and coating materials are taking place all over the world to suit diversified challenging applications. In order to cope up with the advancement, Anabond Limited has established an in house R&D center in the year of 1979 capable of handling multi disciplinary activities. Anabond’s ultimate vision is to become a technology oriented, globally competitive company with the strong support of in house R&D. Anabond’s R&D center has been approved by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, New Delhi. Anabond’s R&D center is headed by Mr. K. Adhinarayanan and supported by 14 Scientists and 18 Chemists. Anabond’s R&D center is housed separately in a floor area of appx. 11,500 sq. feet.

Anabond’s R&D is mostly centred around the following major areas of research namely.

Research and Development of Anaerobic systems based on various types of neat and modified acrylic and methacrylic di esters for formulating thread lockers, bearing retainers, pipe sealants and liquid gasketing compounds suitable for Engineering Industries.

 
Research and Development of Hydroxyl and vinyl terminated siloxane polymers of different molecular weights suitable for formulating single and two part room temperature vulcanizing silicone systems for use in applications such as form-in-place gasketting compounds for automotive industries, encapsulants for electronic industries, etc. These polymers are also used for formulating heat-sink compounds and high temperature greases required for electronic and engineering industries
 

Research and Development of single and two part epoxy based systems suitable for use as adhesives, sealants and encapsulants for automotive, electrical and other industrial applications.

 

Research and Development of ethylcyanoacrylate based monomeric and formulated rapid curing adhesive formulations suitable for use in electrical, electronic, automotive and general industrial applications.

 

Research and Development of synthetic rubber based solvent containing adhesives capable of curing at ambient and elevated temperatures suitable for structural and non-structural bonding applications.

 

Research and Development of synthetic rubber based non-curing formulations suitable for use as adhesives, sealants, mastics and tapes in various industries such as automotive, electrical, air-conditioning, composites etc.

 

Research and Development of single and two part polyurethane products suitable for formulating coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers, encapsulants and moulded compound for use in various industries such as automotive, electrical, electronic and marine industries.

 

Research and Development of epoxy, polyurethane, alkyds, amino resins, nitrocellulose, polyester and acrylic based coatings and specialty lacquers for plastics, metals and glass substrates. These are either UV curing / Thermal curing or air drying type of products.

 

Research and Development of inorganic long after glow phosphorescent pigments and paints suitable for use in industries such as Defence, plastic, coatings etc.

 
Synthesis of acrylic monomers suitable for formulation anaerobic systems.
 

Synthesis of fine chemicals and additives required for formulating adhesives, sealant, coating, encapsulants etc.
